Invitation plan

How do you plan to send invitations?

This helps Melissa identify the contact information you still need. You can still choose a different method for an individual household.

Wedding party

Important people, easy to find.

People in households marked Wedding party are listed here separately while their invitation and contact details remain with their household.

Invitation, RSVP & dietary tracking

Record every invitation and response.

Track attendance and dietary risk by guest. The host or caterer—not the guest—determines the accommodation served.

Review households that still need the address, email or mobile number required for their selected invitation-delivery method.

Add to the list

Start manually, paste a list, or import a file.

Simple contact details are recognized. Review the created households and combine or add members as needed.

Choose or drop a guest-list fileCSV, TSV, XLS, XLSX or text-based PDF
Imported people with the same household name will be grouped together. Rows without a household create separate households.

Working invitation list

Review each household, assign its invitation status and complete the contact information needed for delivery.

•••

Household delivery follows the overall invitation plan unless you select a different method for that household.

Every imported household begins as Undecided. Review each one and assign the status that reflects your current decision. A reserved place can become a named guest later without increasing the maximum count.

MELIΣΣA Guest Builder

How to use MELIΣΣA

Turn a contact list into organized households, invitation decisions, event RSVPs and dietary records.

A good place to begin

  1. Import your contact list.
  2. Enter your maximum guest count.
  3. Review every Undecided household.
  4. Confirm how invitations will be delivered.
  5. Complete missing contact information.
  6. Add events and begin RSVP tracking.

1. Add or import your guest list

Start with New household, Paste names, or Import file. MELIΣΣA accepts CSV, Excel and text-based PDF files. Imported contacts begin as Undecided so every household must be reviewed.

2. Organize invitation households

One household represents one invitation and may include named adults, children and reserved unnamed places. Open a household to review shared contact information, add or remove people, and record individual RSVP and dietary details.

3. Review every household

  • Must Invite: This household must remain on the list.
  • Would Like to Invite: Include this household if space and budget allow.
  • Confirmed Guest: Approved for the final invitation list.
  • Undecided: No decision has been made. This is the default.
  • Removed for Now: Not currently included, but retained for reconsideration.

The selected status appears in gold. Only one status can be selected at a time.

4. Set your maximum guest count

Enter the maximum number your venue or budget allows. The decision meter compares that limit with every person and unnamed place currently included.

5. Choose invitation delivery

Select an overall plan: printed, digital, both, or undecided. A different method may be chosen for an individual household. MELIΣΣA identifies missing addresses, email addresses or mobile numbers based on the selected method.

6. Track events, invitations and RSVPs

Use the wedding ceremony and reception, then add a rehearsal dinner, welcome party, brunch or another event when needed. For each event, record who is invited, RSVP status, delivery method, date sent, deadline, attendance and dietary information. Adding someone to the contact list does not automatically invite them to every event.

7. Record dietary requirements carefully

For each attending guest, record the dietary need, allergens, severity, cross-contact requirements, planned accommodation, caterer review, guest notification and operational notes. A dietary request is not resolved until the accommodation and appropriate review are documented.

8. Search and filter

Search by household or guest name. Filter the working list by Current, Confirmed, Undecided, Must Invite, Would Like to Invite, Removed for Now, or Everything. Filtering changes only what is displayed; it does not alter or delete records.

9. Download and update records

Download an Excel workbook or CSV backup. The Excel workbook supports round-trip editing: update approved fields, keep the hidden identification columns intact, save as an XLSX file and import it back into MELIΣΣA.

Important to know

  • MELIΣΣA organizes and tracks information; it does not send invitations.
  • Your work saves automatically in this browser on this device.
  • Information may not automatically appear on another device.
  • Clear permanently removes the household list from this device.
  • Download an Excel backup before clearing the list or changing devices.
